The Granite Belt has long been a fruit and wine producing region.  Its crisp winters and mild summers make this ideal territory for growing wine grapes, berries, stonefruits and cherries as well as a range summer and winter vegetables. 

In recent years the number of wineries and other speciality food and beverage has grown substantially.  The quality of the wine and other produce has also improved markedly.

There are now over 30 wineries offering a diverse range of styles and grape varieties.  The wines and wineries are gaining an increasing recognition at the state and national level and have won numerous medals and awards.

As well as fresh fruits and vegetables in season, local producers make cheese, juices, sauces, jams,  honey, verjus, vinegars, chocolates, cider, fruit liquers, chutneys, pickles, fruit pastes and olives.

A selection of regional wines and food products is available in reception.

From time to time wine tastings are held on site to give guests the chance to enjoy and learn about some of the local wines while still enjoying the lodge’s beauty.  Tasting can be arranged in advance for groups staying at the lodge.
